Introducing Music Studio

You spent 3 hours editing a video ad. The visuals are perfect, the script hits, the avatar nails the delivery. Then you need background music. So you open a royalty-free library, scroll through 200 tracks that all sound like elevator jazz or corporate ukulele, settle for "good enough," and export. The music doesn't match the energy of your video. But it's licensed, it's free, and you've already spent too long on this.
That workflow is broken. Background music shouldn't be an afterthought you compromise on. It should be generated specifically for your video, matching the mood, the pacing, and the exact duration of your timeline.
That's what Music Studio does. It's a new feature inside Reloop's video editor that generates original instrumental music with AI, tailored to your video, in under 3 minutes.
In a hurry? Try Music Studio free with 400 credits.
What Is Music Studio?
Music Studio is an AI music generator built directly into Reloop's video editor. Instead of browsing a library of pre-made tracks, you generate original instrumental music that fits your specific video.
Here's how it works under the hood:
- AI analyzes your video content (scenes, voiceover, dialogue, pacing) to understand the mood and tone
- An instrumental track is composed based on that analysis, with the right energy, tempo, and duration
- A custom album cover is generated for each track, so your music panel looks like a Spotify library instead of a list of file names
The music is 100% original. No licensing issues, no royalty fees, no risk of hearing "your" track in someone else's ad. Every piece is unique to your project.
What makes this different from standalone AI music tools: Music Studio lives inside your editor. There's no tab-switching, no downloading MP3s, no importing and re-syncing. You generate, preview, drag to timeline, and you're done.
Two Ways to Generate Music
Music Studio offers two generation modes, depending on how much control you want.
Auto Generate: let the AI handle it
Hit Auto Generate and the AI takes over. It reads your entire timeline, analyzes the scenes, voiceover tone, dialogue content, and pacing, then composes a track that matches. The duration is automatically set to fit your video.
This is the fastest path from silence to soundtrack. No decisions required.
Best for: quick turnarounds, when you trust the AI's read on your content, when you want background music that supports without distracting.
Manual Generate: you call the shots
Write a prompt describing exactly what you want. Pick the genre, instruments, tempo, atmosphere. Set the duration anywhere from 3 seconds to 120 seconds.
This is the mode for creators who hear the music in their head before they make it.
Best for: specific creative visions, branded audio identity, when you know exactly what mood you're going for.
| Auto Generate | Manual Generate | |
|---|---|---|
| Input | AI analyzes your timeline | You write a text prompt |
| Duration | Set automatically | You choose (3s to 120s) |
| Control level | Hands-off | Full creative control |
| Speed | ~1-3 minutes | ~1-3 minutes |
| Best for | Fast background music | Specific musical vision |
Here are some example prompts for Manual Generate:
Upbeat electronic track with driving synth bass, crisp hi-hats, and a rising build. High energy, fast tempo, modern and clean. Perfect for a product reveal or launch video.Soft acoustic guitar with warm piano chords and light ambient pads. Slow tempo, calming, intimate. Designed to sit behind a talking head without competing for attention.Cinematic orchestral piece with powerful brass, epic drums, and a soaring string melody. Grand, confident, triumphant. Think Nike commercial energy.Step by Step: From Silent Video to Final Cut
Here's the full workflow. We start with a finished video that looks great but has no music, walk through Music Studio, and end with the final result.
The starting point
This video is already edited: avatar, script, visuals, captions, transitions. Everything is in place except the soundtrack.
What you're seeing: a polished video ad with voiceover and captions, but zero background music. It works, but it feels flat. The energy isn't there.
Step 1: Open Music Studio
In the video editor, click the Music Studio tab in the right panel. You'll see two options: Auto Generate and Manual Generate.

Step 2: Hit Auto Generate
For this walkthrough, we'll let the AI do its thing. Click Auto Generate. The AI scans your entire timeline: the voiceover script, the scene transitions, the overall tone of the video.
Step 3: Wait for the magic (~1-3 minutes)
The AI composes an original instrumental track. While it works, you'll see a progress indicator. Generation typically takes 1 to 3 minutes depending on the duration.
When it's done, your new track appears in the Music Studio panel with:
- A custom album cover (AI-generated, unique to this track)
- The track duration
- A preview on hover so you can listen before committing

Step 4: Drag and drop to your timeline
Like the track? Drag it straight onto your timeline. It snaps into place like any other element.
Step 5: Fine-tune
Once it's on the timeline, you have full control:
- Trim the start and end points to fit exactly where you need it
- Adjust the volume so it sits perfectly behind your voiceover
- Reposition it if you want the music to start later or end earlier

The final result
Same video. Same visuals. But now with a custom AI-generated soundtrack that matches the energy of every scene.
The difference is night and day. The music fills the gaps between voiceover lines, builds energy during visual transitions, and gives the whole video a professional, finished feel. And it took less than 5 minutes.
Edit with AI: Iterate Until It's Perfect
Generated a track that's 80% there? You don't need to start over. Music Studio integrates with Reloop's AI Agent, so you can refine any track through conversation.
Just tell the agent what you want to change:
Make it more energetic and increase the tempo
Add more piano and reduce the synth
Give it a lo-fi hip hop feel instead
Make the intro softer, then build to a climax at the 15-second mark
Remove the drums and keep it ambientThe agent understands musical direction in plain language. No technical knowledge required. If you can describe what you want to hear, it can adjust the track.
This also works the other way around: if you're chatting with the AI Agent and mention anything about music ("add some background music", "this needs a beat", "put a chill track behind the voiceover"), the agent will suggest generating music through Music Studio. It's fully integrated into the conversational workflow.
Pricing: $0.10 Per Second of Music
Music Studio runs on Reloop's credit system. The rate is simple: 0.1 credit per second of generated music.
| Track Duration | Credits Used | Cost Equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| 10 seconds | 1 credit | ~$0.05 |
| 30 seconds | 3 credits | ~$0.15 |
| 60 seconds | 6 credits | ~$0.29 |
| 120 seconds | 12 credits | ~$0.58 |
Cost equivalent based on the Studio plan at $99/month for 2,200 credits.
For context: a monthly subscription to a royalty-free music library like Artlist or Epidemic Sound runs $15 to $30/month, and you still get generic tracks that thousands of other creators use. With Music Studio, 30 seconds of fully original, video-matched music costs 3 credits.
On the Creator plan ($34/month, 700 credits), you could generate over 200 thirty-second tracks per month and still have credits left for video generation.
Pro tip: Use Auto Generate for your first pass. It's the fastest way to hear what the AI thinks your video needs. Then switch to Manual Generate or Edit with AI to dial in the exact vibe.
Your Videos Deserve Better Than Stock Music
Stock music libraries had their moment. But in 2026, when every brand is publishing video daily and algorithms reward uniqueness, "good enough" audio isn't good enough anymore.
Music Studio gives you original, video-matched, royalty-free instrumental music generated in minutes, without leaving your editor. No licensing headaches, no extra subscriptions, no compromise.
